Dear beautiful reader,

Today, Monday 30th of December we welcome in our Capricorn New Moon at 22:27 GMT marking it our last New Moon of 2024!

A New Moon happens once a month and can be used as a comic gift, a reset if you will, aiding you to check in with yourself.

This is a time of checking in with any intentions you would like to grow in relation to your goals and dreams, or perhaps any new habits you would like to develop this is the time to honour these callings as Mother Moon moves towards her fullness so do the seeds you wish to grow as she meets with her partner, the Sun, in the sky we begin a new lunar cycle.

As we are human beings and created with 70% water, it is only normal for us to feel the effects of the Moon closely, just like the tides.

We are all so unique and different that a Moon cycle will affect us differently along with our cycles. As the New Moon is the dark side of the Moon, it is common to feel a little more introspective, wanting to retreat, be at home in your comfies, and watch TV or perhaps read and meditate. But once the New Moon grows into her full brightness so does our energy and feelings and wanting to be more out in the public space. So allowing yourself the time and honour needs is perfectly okay, often this is frowned upon in a fast-paced life but connecting back to our natural rhythms is so important.

In ancient times, the Moon was observed to change over a 28 -29 day period that coincided with a woman's reproductive cycle. The ancients observed how the moon affected the tides and by tracking it alongside the sun, they developed calendars to predict agricultural rhythms. The Sun was the life-giving force, but the Moon played an important role in predicting rainfall. In this way, the Moon inspired culture for the ancients, when hunter and gatherers established civilisations centred on planting and harvesting.

By connecting back to our ancient ways of being and living closer to the rhythms of nature we can connect better to ourselves.

In astrology, the Moon is associated with the subconscious and our instinctive, unconscious behaviour. Its cycles can be used to blend both the tangible and intangible. Working with lunar cycles allows us to intentionally engage our feeling nature, and how it unconsciously helps us with the law of attraction. Just like dreams, what cannot be accomplished during the day can be given over to our larger bodies while we sleep and rest in the evenings.

What does the Capricorn New Moon mean for you…

Now when we have two New Moons within the one month the second New Moon is referred to as a Black Moon meaning we are to embrace rest and we can think of closure to the year that has been as we begin to embrace the new year ahead.

This is a period to reflect and release what is not needed and let them go so you don't carry this energy, this lower vibration into a fresh start of 2025. With all its new beginnings and fresh starts we can look forward to. The dark side of the Moon is a time of reflection and being introspective of what the dialogue within is saying, not to put you off your path.

If we look at Capricorns, they are the most grounded and earthly signs of the Earth signs and ruled by Daddy Saturn…stern, disciplined, structured, and deep thinking- think the Emperor card in the Major Arcana Tarot. People look to Capricorns for guidance and insights that they can offer from their wisdom and hard working nature.

You are being asked, how can I invite more structure and organisation into my life?

As we feel there is a rush to get organised and set intentions for the new year and rush into our new year resolutions, we are actually being called to slow down and embrace this grounding energy we are cocooned in thanks to Capricorn.

Capricorn is represented by the Sea Goat which is a hybrid of a goat and a fish dating back to the Middle Bronze Ages, when the Babylionians used "The Goat-Fish" as a symbol of their God. Now the Sea Goat cannot climb like other mountain goats, and cannot swim alongside the school of fish, but it can embrace its own unique body, its own unique talents, skills, and its own power. A unique animal that has its own matching skills to boot!

WIth this in mind, think about your own unique skills and talents…what are they? How can you embrace them? Rather than judging yourself or feeling “different”, can you look at them from a new perspective?

So rather than powering off under this New Moon, embrace the stillness, the slower pace and not the need “to tick things off” but rather prepare your journey, rest up, slow down before you go off your new journey. Sometimes this is the best thing we can do before implementing the new habits you wish to start that will support you.

So I invite you to embrace the stillness and grounding energy of this New Moon and be mindful that Saturn does represent karma, so that energy might be coming back around and staying in your lane will help you stay grounded.

Ways to work the Capricorn New Moon…

This is a time for you to find some stillness in yourself, remember you have the days leading up to and after the New Moon to work with the energy, so there is no need to rush. When you have some quiet time I have provided a few ideas you can have fun with and create your own ritual.

  • Join our New Moon Abundance Activation Circle Tonight at 8pm UK Time
  • Invite yourself to understand your wounds that are coming up, shadow work by journaling: Ask yourself are you staying present? What patterns do I need to let go of to get more disciplined and structured?  How can I embody my talents?
  • A soothing bath or shower with your favourite oils, salts, shower gels to sooth your body
  • Sit in the stillness of darkness
  • Say a prayer and gratitude to the Luna Goddess Selene - perhaps a light a candle for her
  • Spend time in meditation to connect to your spirit team giving them thanks and clear on what you need now for support
  • Create some Moon water with an intention to infuse into the water and charge your crystals alongside

Mantra for this Capricorn New Moon:

“ I embrace the ambition, discipline, and structure needed to cocreate my reality as I step into 2025”

Wishing you many New Moon blessings and a blessed 2025.

Much love and gratitude,

Assunta x
