On Monday 8^th of April we welcome in the total Solar Eclipse that coincides with the Aries New Moon.

A total Solar Eclipse happens when the Moon completely covers the Sun, and observers are within the darkest part of the Moon's shadow (its umbra). Areas covered by partial shade (its penumbra) witness a partial eclipse.

What the Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Aries mean for you…

Eclipses disrupt our normal routines of life including the most fundamental pattern of life itself, which is that of the Sun and the Moon. This disruption provides us an opportunity to change our patterns. Our job is to remain open to the possibilities of what the eclipse can show us. The shift in cosmic energy causes a shift in us, facilitating change at a rapid rate and giving us a boost in a new direction.

As we are in the middle of eclipse season we may find our emotions are fluctuating and we are not entirely sure how to feel or what we are feeling, often what is lies in our subconscious mind is what is coming to the surface.  It’s important to let go of control and expectations of how we think things will turn out and embrace the unknown. Letting go of control.

It’s a time to not be “manifesting” but rather paying attention to what is coming in, sometimes our manifestations can come in different forms and even better than we could have hoped for. It’s about watching the magic of the universe unfold in front of our eyes and allow things to happen naturally, truths to come to the surface.

Remember that each zodiac sign has a high side and a low side, just like ourselves - we need to learn to understand both aspects of ourselves. Aries is the warrior of the zodiac. This sign can lead us to our willpower, courage, and motivation. It can also lead us to our frustrations and anger.

This solar eclipse is an opportunity to look at how the low side of Aries might be blocking our evolution. It’s a time to become aware of how we may be fighting ourselves or at war in our own mind. Think about certain behaviours, beliefs, or patterns that are fighting your growth and desires? Or do you feel there are parts of yourself fighting for attention or even survival?

How are you battling yourself ?

Aries also encourages us to become aware of how we are battling ourselves. We may be consciously or unconsciously fighting to overcome our obstacles against self-doubt that is holding us back. This eclipse invites us to feel how we can align with support to overcome blocks instead of feeling like we need to battle all the time…allowing a sense of lightness and joy into our daily life rather than focussing on the more negative aspects going on.

Sometimes we are hooked to patterns that have served us to this point in our lives but are no longer needed in order to progress and go for the life we are seeking and that is seeking us. If we look at how we interact in certain environments - do you find yourself falling into complaining, gossiping, perhaps judging others (and ourselves), and/or being passive aggressive? This eclipse is helping to bring awareness to our self sabotaging behaviours and seek your understanding as to why you are locked into this behaviour. Something deeper is going on under the surface, this can be painful when revealed but it’s time to shift gears. To let go of these self sabotaging ways and learn from them in order to transform yourself to be more aligned with what we are seeking and waiting for you.

It’s a time to let go of the fears holding you back and that the war you are having with yourself is your ego trying to keep you safe. It’s okay to honour and acknowledge the protection but it’s time to give these fears thanks and gratitude and move on with confidence. Or perhaps embrace them as the passenger in your car - you are the driver in control but these fears are the annoying passenger giving unsolicited directions - we thank them and acknowledge them and continue on our path.

Other astrological influences with the Solar Eclipse and New Moon in Aries…

The wounded healer of the zodiac, Chiron is rather active at this time and is bringing up our past, including our traumas. Its influence on this solar eclipse can shed light on how our past limits our path forward.

Although there is much action and expansion to the new Moon in Aries, there is also an opportunity to go within and have deeper conversations with your soul and higher self. We tend to assume the past is bound to repeat itself, which contracts our energy to avoid future pain.

This sense of pain of our old wounds that we hold onto are what are holding us back. Our past holds wonderful and also those painful memories and it’s okay to embrace both, giving light and compassion to both. Both sides of these memories have taught us many lessons and provided us with growth so we embrace them but remember we are not them. They are not who we are currently. They have served us well, but do not dictate our futures, we are able to create this ourselves. So embrace your wounds, remembering you can not change the past and there is no need to be fearful of the future, it is yours for the taking.

As you work with the energy of this eclipse, ask yourself if you’re limiting yourself because of past experiences. Notice if your fear controls you from behind the scenes and sabotages your desires even before they have a chance to take hold.

Challenge yourself and align with the courage of Aries to step into a different consciousness, one that considers the future a blank slate. See yourself as the creator of your reality. Remember your past has shaped who you are today, you can choose to no longer allow it to limit who you are in the future.

The Solar Eclipse is also taking place during a Mercury Retrograde and is also helping us release the past inviting us to have deeper conversations with ourselves, shedding that light on what is holding you back from your next evolution. It can show you where you need to detach and where you need to focus.

The other energy affecting this day is Jupiter and Uranus, which are headed toward an exact conjunction on April 20, 2024, although their combined energy is already affecting the cosmic vibration. Jupiter and Uranus together encourage us to break the limitations and rules imposed by our minds. This conjunction asks how we can break through self-imposed limits to find our ultimate expansion and innate genius.

As you can sense this is such a powerful time for us, putting us on the right path and propelling us forward! As you work with the energy on the eclipse, be aware of what is demanding change in your life. What messages are coming through loud and clear? Are you honouring them? Be open to a dramatic and swift change  and unexpected insights and help in attaining your full potential.

Ways to work the Solar Eclipse New Moon…

During a total solar eclipse, everything becomes still and silent as we wait for the Moon to shine again with her brightness. This is a time for you to find some stillness in yourself.

●      Spend time in mediation and lighting a candle to honour this Solar Eclipse New Moon

●      Invite yourself to understand your wounds that are coming up, shadow work by journaling

●      A soothing bath or shower with your favourite oils, salts, shower gels to sooth your body

●      Scream into a pillow if you are feeling angry or frustrated and not sure what to say and to whom

●      Dance to move the energy up and out of the body helping to remove the excess energy

●      Say a prayer and gratitude to the Luna Goddess Selene - perhaps a light a candle for her

●      Go over your visions for your future, understanding your soul's purpose…perhaps it has shifted

●      DON’T charge your crystals under during Eclipse energy - it’s not the ideal energy to be working with
